Ekklesia Church will be participating in this year's Comfest in Goodale Park on June 27, 28 and 29.

We'd love to have you stop by our booth and say hello to us and hear what God is up to in the Short North and around the world in the Church for his glory!

We'll have information available on our local and global partnerships with organizations like Camp Sunrise, Wings of Hope Foundation, Blood: Water Mission and Project Open Hand.

Our Beliefs

God: We believe God is the Creator of the universe and has existed eternally in three distinct personalities; The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit. These three are equal and are one God.

Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God; and was born of the Virgin Mary, making Him fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect, sinless human life and offered Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of all people, as full substitution and atonement. We believe he was crucified on a cross, died, and three days later physically resurrected from the dead by the power of God. And, returned to heaven to be at the Father's right hand.

Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is one-third of the Godhead and equal with God the Father and God the Son. We believe He is active in the lives of people through conviction and regeneration, and comes to indwell each person at salvation.

The Bible: We believe that Scripture is the infallible and inerrant Word of God in the original documents, written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit and God himself.

Salvation: We believe all people need salvation, and that salvation was made possible through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. His substitutionary death reconciles sinful people to God and allows for the regeneration of the human heart.

Sin: We believe that sin entered creation when Lucifer revolted against God. Sin enters the life of all people in the form of a sin nature inherited from Adam and Eve when they disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. Sin is the failure to obey God's laws.

Angels: We believe in the existence of divinely created beings known as angels. They bear the image of God, are superior to humans and inferior to God. There exist holy angels who minister on behalf of God to people, and unholy angels who aligned with Lucifer in his revolt against God, and now attempt to oppose God.

Church: We believe the Church is people in community, not structures or buildings. We believe in the priesthood of all believers that they are God's representatives to the World. We believe the Church as identified in Acts 2 was a gathering of people who had all things in common, with the foundation being a commitment to, and belief in Jesus Christ.

Future: We believe that one day Jesus Christ will return to the Earth and will physically reign as King. We believe that all people will one day experience a final judgment; followers of Christ will be judged in the sense of an appraisal of their life lived for Christ, as such it should provoke followers to holy living, and non-followers of Christ will be judged according to their lack of commitment to Christ.

Baptism: We believe baptism is one of two sacraments commanded by the Lord. We believe baptism is demonstrated in the New Testament as emersion in water that is representative of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is an outward symbol of the inward commitment an individual has made to Jesus Christ, does not result in salvation, nor is required for salvation.

Communion: We believe communion is one of two sacraments commanded by the Lord. We believe communion is a sacred remembrance and symbolic of the sacrifice of the body and blood of Jesus Christ for the payment of sin.

 John 1:2

"He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made."

John Piper writes "If God exists, then he is the measure of all things, and what he thinks about all things is the measure of what we should think." The big question for all of humanity is "does God exist." It may come as a shock to some of us Christians to know that we CANNOT pro...

The Missional Church demonstrates the essence and glory of God in the way we worship, care for one another and live within our world.

Pagan Christianity

Most of what present-day Christians do in Church each Sunday is rooted, not in the New Testament, but in pagan culture and rituals developed long after the death of the Apostles.
